Re: New timings for the school day from September 2015

You may recall that I wrote to you on 1^st July 2015 regarding changes to the timings of the school day for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 from September 2015.

Following consultation, these changes will now take effect from September 2015. As stated in the previous letter, the new timings will allow a staggered lunchtime with KS1 having their lunchtime from 12.00 - 1.00pm and KS2 having their lunchtime from 12.30 – 1.30pm.  This will enable us to deliver a lunchtime experience of higher quality as the children in each key stage will have much more space for play and sporting activities. There will also be more curriculum time overall by adjusting break times.  The morning session will also be longer enabling us to further raise standards in English and Mathematics.

Timings from September 2015 will be as follows: (Please note that Nursery times will not change.)

We break up for the Summer holiday at 1.15pm on Friday 17^th July.

School restarts for children on Monday 7^th September 2015.We look forward to welcoming the children back in the playground at 8.40am.
