School Opening Thursday 3rd September 2020
Please see below for more information.
Dear parents/carers,
We are very pleased to be able to tell you that all of our children will be welcomed back on Thursday 3rd September 2020.
We have all been through a very difficult time that we could never have imagined. We really appreciate the support that you have given us by helping your children with home learning. We are very glad that we will once again have the opportunity to teach the children in school. We all know that our children have missed out on a great deal of learning and social development. Of course, we are very concerned about the impact of this on our children’s futures, including success in qualifications and job prospects.
We do not want our children to fall further behind compared to other children across the country. Therefore, it is now essential that all of our children attend school from September. From Thursday 3rd September, it will be a legal duty to send children to school and local authority fines will be issued where necessary.
Please rest assured that we will put the correct measures in place to ensure the safety of our children. We will have year group bubbles, which means that children will only mix with children in their own year group. We will follow the latest government guidelines, including a staggered start of the day; increased hand washing/sanitising; and a deeper level of cleaning every day.
Please see the table below for the start times for each year group. The end of the day will be 3:30 for all year groups. This is because each year group will be brought out separately. At the end of the day, there will be specific waiting areas for parents/carers who are collecting children. Once you have collected your child, please leave the site immediately and keep your distance from other people at all times.

Things to remember
- Please stay in your parent waiting area when dropping off/collecting your child
- Please keep your distance from other people
- If you have children in more than one year group, please bring them at the earliest starting time of any of your children. There will be an adult waiting for your child in their classroom
- All children must wear school uniform
- All children must bring their own water bottle
- All children must bring their P.E kit. Your child’s class teacher will let them know what day they have P.E upon their return
- Please do not send your child to school with toys, balls, pens, pencil cases etc.
- Children will not be allowed to wear masks or plastic gloves. Government guidelines say that children often cannot manage the correct use of these items
- Children who were previously attending breakfast club will be able to continue. Please speak to a member of the office staff on Tuesday 1st or Wednesday 2nd September if you wish for your child to continue (these are teacher training days). If you would like your child to become a new starter in breakfast club, then please speak to a member of the office staff on either one of these days so that they can be given a place/added to the waiting list
There will be no before or after school activities to begin with, but this will be reviewed at a later date
