Remote Education

Remote Education

Westminster Primary School is determined to provide children with the best remote learning support should there ever be a need to. We utilise a range of platforms and online spaces to ensure the quality of provision and contact with school is maintained.

The precise mode of remote learning will depend upon the circumstances. In the event of a situation requiring a short period of remote learning, we will make us of the Oak Academy materials which enable the delivery of age-appropriate objectives and activities across the curriculum.

Oak Academy has been selected to support remote learning for a number of reasons. The Oak Academy lessons are in-line with Westminster’s pedagogy, i.e. the use of retrieval practice, explicit teaching and high-quality modelling. The Oak Academy also contains lessons specifically aimed at children with special educational needs.

In the event of a longer-term absence from face-to-face teaching, e.g. a pandemic, teachers will also deliver bespoke recorded lessons for the core subjects.
